Whale Watching Tours
Three hours in length, May through October, are the ideal months to view our Southern Resident Orcas in all their glory. The Juan de Fuca and Haro Straits are home to three Resident Orca (killer whale) pods, referred to as J, K, and L pods. Over 90 whales belong to these three pods, providing you ample opportunity to have your own close encounter of the deep. During the peak viewing months, our success rate for sighting whales is often 95%.Marine & Eco Wildlife Tours
Two hours in length, marine wildlife tours are offered early and late in the season, when whales are typically not in the area. Join an exhilarating boat ride to Race Rocks, a recently created ecological reserve, to view hundreds of California and Stellar sea lions. Other marine wildlife you may encounter includes Dalls porpoise, Harbour porpoise, Harbour and Elephant seals, Otters and many marine birds such as Cormorants and Bald eagles. Tours around the Sooke Harbour are also part of our regularly scheduled excursions. Sooke Harbour contains a wealth of coves and bays that happily lend themselves to exploration. Enjoy the scenic Sooke Harbour and near-by waters from an entirely new perspective. Make a night of it; enjoy a romantic seaside dinner, and then top the night off with this sunset voyage.Whale Watching tours run daily April through September at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. During peak season, a 6:30 pm departure time is also available. All scheduled trips are 3 to 4 hours in duration.
Eco-Tours
Eco-tours run every Saturday from February 23rd to March 31st and depart promptly at 1:00 pm.Sooke Harbour tours run Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 pm. Harbour tours are 1 to 2 hours in duration and typically include a trip to Race Rocks, nature watching and viewing Eagles Nests, and much more...
We ask that you please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the departure time. We do provide Protective Floatation Suits for your safety. This will help keep you warmer and drier, but we strongly recommend you wear warm underclothes and flat closed-toed shoes. Gloves and sunglasses, or other eye protection are also important. And, don’t forget to bring your camera!
